Well it was going well, i was having fun cycling. Unfortunately, i was due 2 credits for P.T, which i was supposed to complete in my first year, but i was too lazy then. Obviously, the course involves running early in the morning. I used to think of “running” as a bad-word in my first year. Later on, realising its benefits, i found it may be necessary, but never liked it. The reason i can think of now, more like guess, for hating running is may be since i was not good at running i didn’t like it. But something happened after i got into cycling nd that may have changed my feelings towards running.
Well, after biking some 1000+ km, i can say i was in a good shape. So, when i started attending P.T course in the morning, the only thing i found painful was waking up in the morning, cause the usual run of 2-2.5 km turned out to be pretty easy. I found that i was good at it. Very soon i started running in the evening initially some 2 km as warmup before hitting gym nd after that i was just running. In no time i was doing 5km, at a very slow pace though. I was very happy that i was able to hit 5km nd pace didn’t bother me at all then. Met a friend Ruchit, who was really into running, cycling nd workouts. We started running and cycling together. That’s when the debates began.
Every time it used to be the same question, “which is more fun? running or cycling?” I was like “running is boring man, all u can do is just run”. But as i got better at it, it grew on me. Then came the life-saver. Bike Affair organised a Duathlon (5k run + 25k cycling + 3k run). I was excited cause i got a chance to do both the things i love, run nd bike. Then i realised it was not nd can never be about “running vs cycling”, it’s just “running and cycling”. You can never compare them. They may seem a bit similar, but are absolutely unique in their own way. So, i stopped comparing nd started enjoying.
Even now i’m not bothered with what makes me wanna run. All i care is, I love running.
