Running – 102 km
Cycling – 1007 km
Running took back stage once lock-down began in India around mid march. Was lucky to relocate in time to Hyderabad and joined Microsoft exactly 1 week before mandatory lockdown came into effect. Implies all the on-boarding was virtual and next 2 months was a suffocating period. No walking, running or cycling outside. Masks all the time, panic everywhere. Still things were smooth thanks to the society’s planning.
Wahoo Kickr Snap i bought couple of years back came to rescue. Paired it up with Zwift and virtual cycling became more fun. With 0 km in Jan and Feb, i thought this is the right time to put on some cycling kms.
March – 100 km
April – 277 km
May – 120 km
June – 517 km
Idea is to maintain the temp rest of the year in cycling and gradually pick up some running as well.

Looking from distance point of view – 610 km, well short of 1000 km target i hoped to do. Plan was also to hit 100km mileage each month, but even though it didn’t happen, i failed to hit 100 km even in a single month. Not happy at all with this. Not much worried about the pace, plan is to hit the distance and keep consistent across months. Will add interval training slowly and pace will be taken care of.
One positive takeaway is that i got to do 2 half-marathons in the second half of 2019… So i can build on that..
Simply put want to hit 100km+ every month in 2020. No extravagant goals, just keep the distance consistent.

stats first:
yeah.. ran 6 days, my most consistent week so far. Could have been 7, but it overlapped with a 20 mile ride nd i was too tired to go for a run. Plan is to use cycling to train my mind so that i can run long distances. So, jst cycling this week. Still in testing phase. Have to wait and see wat happens.

my challenge ended with 35/70.. Can’t think of any excuses, except that couldn’t get my mind going. At the end of the day, i believe, it’s the mind that runs long, be it 5, 10, 21, 42 or even more. Have to start working on my mind nd running form simultaneously from now i guess.
managed to do 25 km the week after. So i guess i can take this positively considering these two weeks were the best in the past 8 or so. Jst planning to build on this training and run all 7 days be it tempo or easy. Let’s see how it goes.

missed my target 6 miles again.. gd thing is did a 3 miles sprint. Very happy for dat nd to make things worse forgot my garmin.. so no record on my pace 😦 But i think i’m making really good progress with my landing nd form. All i need is some 100-200 miles of practice nd i’l be good to go.
