2014 has been a awesm year.. let’s see wat happened
- Ran my first full marathon at AHM’14 in sub 5 (4.59.19). not a bad way to start i guess. 😀
- 1168 kms logged this year. It looks a good start but was very irregular. Distance per month varied from 15km to 224km.
- Ran 77 km in a week. My best so far.
- Got PB in 5k(24.31) nd 10k(54.44).
- Got my garmin forerunner 310xt in november. Since then i was able to maintain my pace nd look at my heartbeat. I’m more of a numbers guy so this really pushed me to constantly improve nd do my best. Have to research more on heartbeat readings.
- Developed a whole new appreciation for running after reading Once a Runner, Born to Run, Hanson’s Marathon Method; nd watching Running on the Sun The Badwater 135, Spirit of the Marathon, Ultramarathon Man, Running the Sahara etc.
- Started a blog nd fell in love with it right away. Met some really amazing people nd learned a lot.
Now the big question, wat to do in 2015!!? this is one difficult question cause i think the answer should be more realistic, practical at the same time challenging nd fun :D. well, somehow i made my list. Some of them can be checked every month, some only mid-way into the year nd some only at the end of the year. But i don’t have to worry abt that for another 365 days. So i’l jst list it out nd do my best
- First thing i wanna do is be consistent in logging miles. No matter how many, spread them evenly across the year.
- Log 2400km nd that is 200km per month or more, but certainly not less.
- Do a 4.15 marathon.
- Properly follow Hanson’s nd concentrate more on building core strength.
- Do 50km ultra. If possible 75km too.
- Keep my pace consistently at 6 min/km.
- Do a 100km per week challenge.
- Get my 5k time to 20min nd 10k time to 50min.
- Keep a balanced running life. Do solo runs, but at the same time be a social runner as well. Be active with Hyderabad Runners.
